WELCOME TO THE TROTTER FAMILY
Our Mission is:
At the William Monroe Trotter K-8 School, we hold dear that all students are learners capable of developing critical thought and respectfully working together to create a society where all are welcomed and treated with dignity and respect. As a K-8 school we are committed to ensuring students have developed scholarly habits and leadership skills that allow them to challenge the status quo, learn to use their collective voice and the power of the pen to impact change in their world. We are committed to challenging one another to be greater through our collaboration, reflection and serve as examples for our community!
Our Vision is: The William Monroe Trotter School will exemplify how urban education should work by meeting the diverse needs of students through exceptional teaching, collaboration and leadership. At the Trotter we believe that learning is a lifelong process and that all children must be provided with a high level of instruction, a culture of achievement and opportunities to challenge the status quo. We are committed to not only preparing students to take academic risks but to serve as social justice advocates who believe in themselves and their responsibilities to serve their communities.
