Parent Council secures additional janitor

Picture
During the fall semester many parents raised concerns about the cleanliness of the school. The executive committee did some research and started discussions with Principal Thomas on how to best approach the problem, and found that the job to keep the school clean was far too much to handle for one single custodian. A petition for a part-time janitor was created in January 2018. In April  BPS operational superintendent an his immediate reports in facilities and maintenance met with Ms Thomas and representatives from the parent council, teachers and staff, and in May 2018 a part time Janitor started working at Trotter!
In addition, a comprehensive list of needed repairs were created and submitted to the operational superintendent upon his request. The Parent council will follow up to get a proposed timeline for repairs and capital improvements such as HVAC system, new windows, and boiler.
